The build

How it came together

The brief was not "build a store". It was "build the thing that builds stores" — multi-tenant from the first migration, with tenant isolation enforced at the query layer and failing closed. The domain model runs to 232 tables across a schema of roughly 9,300 lines, covering catalogue, orders, fulfilment, tax, billing, messaging and the reseller channel on top.

Merchants bring their own payment gateway. The platform supports eight in production — Stripe and Stripe Connect, Paddle, PayPal, Razorpay, Mercado Pago, Mollie, Paystack and Xendit — with webhook reconciliation jobs that catch what webhooks silently drop. Tax is a first-class engine, not a percentage field: an India GST and HSN four-level cascade, filing reports, accountant export, and e-invoicing through Sovos and Storecove.

A theme engine drives 733 generated themes from one component set, composing theme skin, layout preset, colourway and finish, with content snapshotting so a merchant can change theme without losing copy. Fourteen static guard scripts fail the build if a theme drifts out of contract.
